Lasse, last heat hero... Workington elected to choose gates for heat 15 and Todd made great use of the inside to win heat 1. Kyle Howarth in third place attempted to go around Rasmus Jensen but only succeeded in losing so much ground he was nearly passed by Rene Bach. Jack trapped ahead of Mason Campton to lead heat 2 but Mason went faster into turn three and then clamped young Jack to the white line. James was untroubled taking third place ahead of rookie Kyle Bickley. Ty Proctor and Dan Bewley trapped ahead in heat 3 and Lasse never looked like troubling them. Mason trapped ahead in heat 4 and James tried every which way to make an inside pass but to no avail. Charles looked subdued in third place but was untroubled by Nicolai Klindt who retired at the back. Lasse looked more his normal self winning heat 5 but Jan was tailed off at the back. Comets lead by two points.

Jim McGregor releases the tapes for heat 6 as Nicolai is rolling backwards. Jim lets the others go and leaves it until after the race to warn Nicolai to keep still at the tapes! Ty makes another cracking start to lead heat 7 and Dan rounds Charles on the first bend for another maximum win for the Comets. It seems Charles injured his thumb the night before and was only able to ride at all thanks to cortisone injections. Mason dominates the first bend in heat 8 but James and Todd are poised to pounce exiting turn 2 when Mason gets unexpected grip and nearly wipes himself and Todd out. Todd shuts off to avoid the fence and is nearly a straight behind as a result. James pressures Mason for the lead while Todd closes in on the pack before making a glorious wide swoop on the last lap to grab third and very nearly second place on the line. Nicolai behaves at the start of heat 9 but Lasse goes where others fear to tread and blast around him out of turn 2. Ty completes a hat-trick of wins from the gate in heat 10 but partner Dan passes Todd on the first lap and keeps Kyle Howarth on his toes for second place. Comets still lead by a slim two point margin but look stronger for the closing stages.

Charles makes a super start to heat 11 despite his thumb problems and rides unchallenged. Unfortunately James is stuck at the back and unable to get past. Tony Jackson drops Kyle Bickley in favour of unbeaten Mason Campton in heat 12 so Lasse and Jack face two unbeaten riders. Jack is out of his depth but Lasse leaves the pair of them trailing. Two points down with three heats to go. Kyle and Charles face Rene and Nicolai in heat 13. Rene traps from the inside gate and leads down the back straight. Charles from the outside gate takes the long way around the first turns and has the momentum to go around Rene into turn three. Kyle is hot on his heels and follows his team mate past Rene at the start of the second lap. This puts the Tigers two points ahead but heat 14 could be a problem. Jan has to take his third ride and is currently pointless. James replaces Jack but they face Dan Bewley and Mason Campton who have accumulated three wins, two paid wins and 15 (paid 18) points between them! It doesn't bode well when the Comets pair lead away from the tapes but James grasps the nettle and dives past Mason into second place. Not to be outdone Jan then follows his team mates example and also passes Mason on the last lap for an unexpected shared heat. So it comes down to a last heat decider. Kyle and Lasse are Simon's nominations while Tony goes with Ty and Dan who have dropped just one point apiece to the opposition so far. Ty off gate 1 takes the lead but Kyle off gate 4 takes the long way around the first bend. Lasse dives under Dan out of turn two and Kyle dives past Ty into turn three in a move Peter Carr would have appreciated. Ty is unable to get the better of Kyle and Lasse closes remorselessly before passing Ty on the last lap to the delight of the home support.
