our kid! Sheffield went into this match without Lasse Bjerre who was suffering knee injuries following a knock while riding for Leicester. Todd Kurtz made his mark on heat 1 out gating Richard Lawson and riding a tidy line for the win. Josh Grajczonek rounded Mason Campton out of turn 2 but couldn't find a way past Richard. Jan Graversen trapped to win heat 2 and Georgie Woods eased past Alfie Bowtell out of turn 2. Todd was r/r in heat 3 and popped out behind Josh Bates for an untroubled 5-1. Georgie tucked in behind Kyle in heat 4 but Thomas Jorgensen picked him off on the second lap. Richard and Mason Campton led heat 5 with Josh Bates pushing hard. Josh passed him bend 3 lap 3 and Mason ditched it on the next bend. Sheffield 10 points up.

TJ gated with his team mate second in heat 6 but JoshG was on their case. He passed Mason out of turn 2 and then Thomas out of turn 4 while Todd and James Sargeant were having a good scrap over third place. While all eyes were watching that tussle Josh in a comfortable lead lost control on the apex of the first and second turns and tumbled awkwardly into the fence! (We subsequently learned he'd lost his footrest!) TJ and JS trapped ahead in the rerun but Todd rounded James out of turn two. Kyle led heat 7 from tapes to flag while Ty Proctor and Jan disputed second place. Ty stuck to the wide line while Jan came close on every corner but just didn't have the speed to get past. Jan replaced Georgie in heat 8 and he and Todd trapped ahead and were never troubled. Jan was r/r on heat 9 making it three consecutive races for him and TJ was given a tactical ride. The Tigers gated ahead but TJ rounded Jan into turn three. Jan gave chase and was along side into turn one where I was ideally placed to see that Thomas left Jan no racing line and he had no option other than bailing out. JoshB made no mistake in the rerun and rode high and wide for the win. Matt Williamson led heat 10 until the back straight when JoshG powered past, while Todd and Ty Proctor had a four lap duel for the odd point with Todd getting the verdict. Tigers now 14 points clear despite the tactical ride.

The Comets pair led from the gate in heat 11 but Kyle went straight for the grippy outside and powered into the lead down the back straight. JoshB was r/r in heat 12 and held off hard chasing Ty to share the heat. Jan was plunged into heat 13 when JoshG withdrew from the meeting feeling the after effects of his heat 6 crash. Jan and Kyle trapped ahead of Richard and Thomas and team rode for a couple of laps. Richard looked capable of passinh Jan at any moment and Kyle pulled ahead to make sure of the win, but Jan rode a great line to thwart all of Richard's moves and received a ratpturous ovation. JoshB powered past James down the back staight on the first lap and Georgie closed in on Matt in third place. Matt was right on his limits and lifted at the end of lap 3 narrowly missing being eaten by the fence and allowing Georgie past, and an instant later James retired from second place with a very sick motor gifting second place and a paid win to Georgie. It just wasn't the Comet's day! Heat 15 was the race of the night with countless passes and re-passes. Richard and JoshB eased ahead after a couple of laps leaving Kyle and Thomas battling for third with the visitors winning both duels but the fans again applauding loudly.
