The Tigers were on the receiving end of a 20 point mauling on their last visit to Monmore Green just 4 weeks previously. Having lost three heat leaders to injury including ex-Wolves Tai Woffinden and Tobiasz Musielak they included three guests in this Play-Off semi-final. All three were heat winners! Kyle won heat 1 from Sam Masters with Robert Lambert third. Zach Cook won heat 2 from Jason with Leon Flint passing Drew Kemp off the last turn to level the score. Luke Becker won heat 3 from Josh who passed Ryan Douglas to put the Wolves ahead. Leon Flint held onto the lead in heat 4 with Richard Lawson passing Rory Schlein as the Wolves extend their lead. Ryan led heat 5 until Robert stormed past on the last lap. Kyle's third place cut the witches lead back to just 2 points.

Steve Worrall wins heat 6 from Richard and Sam to restore the Wolves 4 point lead but that was incredibly their last heat win as the makeshift Tigers move up a gear. Chris Holder rounds Zach Cook to win heat 7. Kyle passes both Steve and Leon down the back straight to win heat 8. Drew Kemp makes a blinding start to lead heat 9 and Richard does a blinding job to keep Ryan and Luke behind and level the score line. Josh wins heat 10 from Steve and Sam but Chris fails to add to his score and the teams are now level at 30-30.

Robert Lambert wins heat 11 from Rory Schlein but Kyle passes Zach Cook to open the Tigers slender lead. Chris holds off Luke to win heat 12 and Drew does likewise ahead of Leon. Robert and Richard make it a hat-trick of 4-2's in heat 13 from Steve and Rory. Josh makes it two wins this time ahead of Ryan and Zach and we go into the nominated heat 6 points up. Pete Adams nominates his 2 highest scorers, skipper Sam and Steve, while Simon gambles on Robert with three wins under his belt, and Richard. The Tigers guests get another 5-1 and the Tigers take a 10 point lead into the home leg.

As Pete Adams said in his debriefing it's difficult when your opponents win 11 heats to your 4. Robert won three, Kyle, Josh and Chris had two wins each and Richard and Drew both won one. Ipswich are already through to the final after a last heat win from Emil and Jason at the NSS.
