The Dons were soundly beaten with only Reg Luckhurst first past the post. Swedish star Olle Nygren was his only support with young Trevor Hedge unable to finish in three of his four outings.

Clive Featherby (pictured on the front of the programme) rode to an untroubled maximum with Billy Bales backing him up soundly with a paid maximum. David Crane was also set for his own paid maximum but suffered a retirement in his last ride.
