Richard Hall passed Bary Evans on the 4th turn to win heat 1, and Paul Cooper sped away to win heat 2 with Michael Mitchell falling on the second lap but jumping back on. Heat 3 saw James Cockle falling on the apex of the 3rd & 4th turns and taking David Speight down with him, and poor David tasted dirt again in the rerun when Wayne Broadhurst locked up in front of him on the second turn of the last lap. Ben headed Buzz home to win heat 4, but James Cockle fell again in heat 5, this time on the 2nd turn as he chased Barry Evans. Richard won from Buzz in heat 6, and Ben took the flag in heat 7 but everyone was watching Paul Cooper who passed Gavin Headge at the end of lap 1 and then closed remorselessly on Wayne Broadhurst before scraping the boards around the final two bends to snatch second place right on the line.

Paul was out again in the next and Carl Shield followed him home to register another 5-1 but the Don's bounced back through a Buzz Burrows tactical win in heat 9. The start of heat 10 saw Carl Shield and Gavin Hedge clashing on the way to the first turn and Wayne Broadhurst got caught up in the mayhem taking an ungainly tumble over the handlebars. He was helped onto his feet nursing an arm injury but immediately slumped back to the track and was taken away by ambulance with a suspected broken collarbone. That knocked the stuffing out of the Dons who didn't manage to win another race. Richard Hall won the rerun but Carl Shield impressed ahead of the visibly faster Gavin Hedge and rode a good line to claim the 5-1. Barry Evans on a tactical ride in heat 11 got alongside Paul Cooper for a fleeting moment, and although Andre Cross blasted around Michael Mitchell on the last lap of heat 12 he was yards behind James Cockle who managed the rarity of four laps without falling.

Richard Hall sped away to win heat 13 but Ben Wilson and Mark Burrows entertained the crowd with a terrific scrap for second place which Ben just held onto. Paul Cooper completed his maximum in heat 14 and then Richard and Ben followed suit ahead of the hard chasing Buzz Burrows in the final heat. Thrills and spills aplenty and there will be a fresh order going in for replacement kickboards!
