Thirteen year-old Joe Haines was the run-away winner of this British U15 Championship round. While the standard of the field didn't seem to be quite as high as last year Joe was unquestionably the best rider on the night and looked fast, smooth and in full control. Even when he was outgated in his last ride he wasted no time at all in passing Brendan Johnson on the outside of turn 2. I certainly got the feeling that if Josh Auty hadn't missed the meeting with a broken wrist he might have had a race on his hands.
Congratulations to all riders taking part, and the referee who by sounding the 2 minute time allowance sometimes before the 4th placed rider had even crossed the finish line managed to steamroller 20 heats through in just over one hour!
