After driving through rain and fog it was a relief to find the Loomer Road track in good nick, albeit rather slick. Sean won heat 1 from 'Herr Flick', and Kyle elbowed his way past Rob Grant to follow Paul home for a shared heat 2. Rob obviously wasn't happy with Kyle's tactics, but kicking and punching Kyle on the back straight after the finish should have been jumped on by the referee. The Richards couldn't recover from a poor start in heat 3, but André made a blinding start to heat 4. Indeed it was Kyle who emerged from the second turn just ahead of Stæchers in third place. Jan dived under him on the third turn, but Kyle kept it wound on and passed both Stoke riders out of the last turn. Jan passed him again wide on the first turn and as Kyle tried to keep in contention with a wide line exiting turn 2 it allowed Barie Evans to slip through tight on the white line.

Moggo passed Sean on the last bend of the second lap in heat 5 and was set for a comfy 5-1 until he went just too deep on turn two and fell on the last lap. Paul Clews passed André on the second turn in heat 6, but André powered around him out of the last turn on lap 3, and just held onto second place on the run to the line. Jan won heat 7 ahead of Richard after Ricky packed up before reaching the second turn. Ben won heat 8 passing fast starting Barrie Evans on the pits turn at the end of the first lap, but Paul Clews kept Kyle at the back. Moggo and Herr Flick took a maximum ahead of Cooperman in heat 9 after André's bike died at the start, but Paul Clews suffered a similar misfortune in heat 10.

Stæchers powered under Sean to deny him the full six points in heat 11 but Ben comfortably outpaced Rob at the back. Robbie just held on to take the flag in heat 12 with Richard right on his tail after he'd passed Barrie Evans on the third bend on the first lap. Jan beat Sean again to win heat 13, and Paul Clews easily beat André which was a great pity as he was on a tactical ride. Moggo did a brilliant job riding shotgun for fast starting Rob Grant in heat 14 with Ricky never looking like getting into contention and not giving Kyle the opportunity to have a crack himself. Moggo trapped to lead heat 15 and Jan outdragged Sean down the back straight. On the apex of the 3rd and 4th bends Sean and Jan tangled and Richard had to lay his bike down but hit the postrate pair. Sean was excluded and Jan went off to hospital with suspected collar-bone injuries which was an unfortunate conclussion.

A poor display for the Tigers, but potentially an expensive win for the Potters as their injury list grows longer.

Subsequent reports confirm that Jan as broken his collarbone and dislocated his shoulder and will be out of the saddle for approx. four weeks. Hope the recovery goes well Jan!
