Somerset arrived in Sheffield 6 looking to revenge their home defeat earlier in the month. Ricky took a convincing win in heat 1 and Ben joined him in a 5-1 by slicing past Zorro on the pits turn. Glen Phillips did the same one lap later but then suffered a retirement on the last lap. Ben Barker rounded everyone to lead down the back straight in heat 2, and Simon Walker's perseverance paid off as he rounded Benji on the very last turn. Paul Fry went around Kyle on the second turn to lead heat 3 and Stephan Katt slipped under Emiliano on the pits turn on the second lap. Potty recovered and returned the favour in the same place one lap later. André powered into the lead in heat 4 and Benji held off a stern challenge from Ben Barker at the end of the first lap, but he couldn't match Glenn Cunningham's pace on the first turn on the third lap. Zorro rode a strong first turn in heat 5 which took the wind out of Kyle's sails and he and Glen Phillips levelled the scores with a determined 1-5.

Ben was first to show in heat 6 and Glenn C passed Ricky exiting turn 2. Ricky went out looking for drive and regained second place on the next lap. André took another big win in heat 7 and although Paul never stopped trying he couldn't get amongst the points. Ben Wilson blasted around Glen Phillips on the second turn and then Ben Barker on the third to lead heat 8 but Benji couldn't follow suit. Simon Walker had problems at the start of heat 9 and his skipper rushed his own bike out for him just in the nick of time. Glenn Cunningham made a cracking start and demonstrated his knowledge of the Owlerton circuit with an imposing victory. Ricky dived past Paul Fry on the third turn to win heat 10 and Ben Wilson tried to do the same on the last lap but Fryer covered the inside line and Ben's late switch to the outside just failed by mere inches.

André took another big win in heat 11, but Cooperman, try as he might couldn't add to his account. Emiliano made his first decent start and went on to win heat 12 while Stephan Katt had a good scrap with Benji at the back of the field with the German edging ahead on the first turn of lap three. André and Ricky combined for a 5-1 in heat 13 which extended the Tigers lead to 10 points and Mick Bell wasted no time in giving Fryer a tactical ride in heat 14. While Paul trapped and was gone Cooperman snatched second place by passing Ben Barker on the back straight, while Kyle had to work a little harder before he too found his way past. The three points settled the verdict in the Tigers favour, and it's just as well as the big guns were all nominated for heat 15 and surprisingly it was the Rebels who flew into the lead and despite Ricky's best efforts he just couldn't get the better of Paul Fry.

Somerset were by far the best visiting team so far this season and really kept the pressure on in the early stages. The Tigers second strings did just enough to gain the victory with Benji having his poorest home meeting to date although not through any lack of effort. Cooperman had another engine go as he crossed the line at the end of heat 14.

Tai Woffinden (Rob's lad) won the second half junior event dropping a solitary point to Andrew Aldridge in the first heat after nudging the tapes and gaining a 15 metre handicap. He sped to victory in the final ahead of the hard pressing David Speight. Ben Hopwood led the 'B final' until and engine failure on the last bend gifting the win to Sam Dore.
