Top scorer With Jorgensen flying at reserve it was always going to be a struggle for the six man Tigers. Stead well beaten off gate 4 in the first heat (when will he ever win the toss?) but then carding all but one of the Tigers wins. Leigh Lanham passed David Howe to win heat 5 but looked average after that. Andre had a couple of good rides, but some poor ones too. Taylor Poole actually passed Thomas Jorgensen in heat 4 but it lasted barely 1 lap. Simon Nielsen only managed to finish ahead of Matt Williamson and Josh Bates moment of glory was leading heat 8 until he picked up a puncture.

Edinburgh next week and we will need a dramatic improvement from most of the team, including Owlerton novice Ty Proctor.

Josh Bates was interviewed to congratulate him on becoming a full Tigers asset and he mentioned how good the track was. "Not too grippy" were his exact words. How long before they cotton on that "Fortress Owlerton" will return when it is consistently extra grippy and the home team have learned to cope with it while the visitors are frightened to open the throttle.
