Top scorer... The Tigers required a home win over Scunthorpe and the bonus league point for keeping the scores close here at Hoddesdon to make it into the play-offs. Any less and our fate lay in the hands of other clubs, especially Peterborough. Aside from the win at Berwick and the draw at Redcar the Tigers had failed to claim a bonus in any of their away losses so were looking for a good all round team effort.

The newly crowmed PLRC champion and Dmitri led from the start in heat 1 but guest Sam Masters passed Dmitri on the second lap. The Rockets bounce back in heat 2 heat 2 but Arthur skittles Rob Branford off as he tries to pass at the end of the third lap earning himself a disqualification. Kyle is untroubled at the front in heat 3 but Josh only makes it as far as the second bend. Kyle shows it wasn't a fluke and pops out to win heat 4 but Nathan is passed for third place at the end of the first lap. Simon and Dmitri are looking good for a 5-1 in heat 5 when Simon's Hoddesdon curse strikes again and he locks up on the second lap taking his team mate down with him. Last season it cost David a fractured pelvis, but Dmitri thankfully escapes unscathed. Dmitri wins the rerun and the Tigers are on schedule trailing by just two poins.

Simon withdraws from the meeting on paramedic advice with a wrist injury making the Tigers job a whole lot more difficult. Josh and Arthur find themselves trailing the Rockets after the second bend of heat 6. Kyle makes it a hat trick of wins in heat 7 but Josh is left at the starting gate. Dmitri wins heat 8 but Arthur negates his efforts finishing last, but then Ben and Leigh take a 5-1 against Arthur and Nathan. Kyle dons the black & white but is headed by Sam in heat 10, and with Josh last the Tigers are now 10 points down and looking unlikely to get that important league point.

Dmitri claims his 3rd heat win in heat 11 but Arthur takes Simon's place and trails home last. He makes amends in heat 12 with a flying start and Kyle chops past Ben at the end of the first lap to pull us back into contention. Sadly Stuart gets a flyer and with Sam takes a maximum back in heat 13. Josh wins heat 14 but with Nathan at the back the point has all but gone, and Stuart heads Kyle home in heat 15 to confirm it.
