2012 Programme Steve Quinn's report from Speedway Star, September 1 2012.

Chris Schramm suffered more mechanical gremlins which added to his mounting list of expenditure and raised a massive question over his immediate future in the sport. Joe Hughes suffered an awkward heat 12 tumble when he lifted coming out of the second turn and hit the fence. Although he didn't realize at the time it caused a broken scaphoid.

Tigers took an early lead and looked in control for the majority of the meeting but Cardiff reserve Ben Barker staged a late rally with a string of wins - including a tactical ride six-pointer - to keep the Devils in with a shout of a consolation league point. But Richard Hall and Ricky Wells were able to see of Cory Gathercole in heat 15 to deny the visitors and hand Tigers all three points, which keeps them away from the foot of the table.

Hall and Wells piled up the points between them to make up for the absence of Franc at the top end of the Sheffield team. For Plymouth, Barker was brilliant but he didn't have the necessary back-up to get a point which perhaps they thought they deserved.
