Top scorer Steady won the toss and chose the inside gates again! He passed his team mate on the second turn and never looked back. Disappointing given he's the skipper, and his team mate was Ben Wilson making his return to Owlerton after 5 years. Chris Mills showed he hasn't forgotten Owlerton with an accomplished win in heat 2. After a poor start Taylor Poole switched back to pass Nikki Barrett on the inside of the second turn on the third lap. Andre had heat 3 sewn up tight until he collected a puncture and slowed on the last lap. Leigh Lanham never recovered from becoming the filling in a Diamond sandwich on the first turn. Taylor flew into the lead in heat 4 and Ty joined him when Chris locked up slightly on the pits turn. Andre had an expensive sounding ef at the start of heat 5 leaving Leigh to battle from the back, which he did in style picking off Danny on the second turn, and then Lewis Rose in the same place one lap later. Tigers lead by 4 points.

Simon trapped to win heat 6 from Ludwig, Ben and Nikki. I can't remember the number of passes we witnessed in heat 7. Suffice it to say that for three laps Ty, Stuart and Lewis Kerr gave it all they could muster and passed inside and out before a supreme outside blast by Ty gave him the lead on the last lap. Brilliant racing! Taylor and Ben team rode for a couple of laps in heat 8 before they edged clear of Chris. Andre led the way in heat 9 and Leigh denied Ludwig any extra points from his tactical ride by passing him on the third turn. Lewis Kerr took a comfortable win in heat 10 after Steady slowed up with a sick engine. Ben gave Stuart a good test  with Stuart having to pass him twice. Tigers lead pegged back to ten points.

Ty took the lead on the first lap of heat 11 and Lewis Rose passed Lee Payne on the fourth turn. Stuart passed Leigh on the first lap of heat 12 but Leigh battled back on the inside of the pits turn. Stuart regained the lead on the second lap only for Leigh to pass him again at the start of lap 3. Stuart blasted around the outside and into an unassailable lead while Taylor relegated Chris to last place. Steady was left standing again in heat 13. Ty picked off Ludwig on the second turn but couldn't catch Daniel. Taylor and Andre trapped well to win heat 14 with ease. Ty ran out of track on a busy first turn in heat 15. He got his head down and blasted around Stuart on the second turn of the second lap. stayed high and wide to pass Leigh off the fourth turn and was alongside Daniel when the air fence collected him on the third lap. He was able to walk gingerly away and fingers crossed he has no ill effects.

Promising debut by Ben, solid returns from Leigh and Andre, and exceptional racing from the Aussies. Let's hope Simon can sort out his gremlins and Josh is soon fit again...
