Dmitri sped from the tapes to win heat 1.
Arthur took Nathan wide at the start of heat 2 and he fell. In the rerun he passed Lewis on the fourth turn but the damage was
already done. Dmitri took Jason's place in heat 3 and claimed another tapes to flag win, but Josh was passed by Ludwig Lindgren on the third
bend and trailed home last. Robert Lambert beat Kyle in heat 4 and Nathan trailed home last. Simon is r/r in heat 5 but gates stone
dead last before passing Victor. Josh retires along with any chance of pulling back the 34 point defecit. Robert trapped ahead of Simon and Dmitri to share heat 6. With straight 5-1's now needed Kyle trapped to win heat 7 and Arthur busts his gut to round Matej on the last lap. Victor wins heat 8 from Dmitri who passed Nathan on the second lap. Nathan is then passed by Danny on the last lap. Robert won heat 9 but Kyle at least kept him honest to entertain the faithful. Dmitri led heat 10 but Ludwig passed him on the second bend and Simon on the third so the scores are level on the night with the Diamonds 34 points up on aggregate.
At the second attempt Kyle led heat 11 with Ryan pushing him and Arthur waiting for a gap to pass himself. Arthur made a wide swoop around the final bends and just missed out as they crossed the line. Josh left it rather late but eventually remembered how to trap winning heat 12, but Nathan ran true to form. After the interval Ryan showed Simon and Kyle a clean pair of heels, but Robert made no progress after his poorest start. Ludwig trapped in heat 14 but Arthur was all over him; more than can be said for Josh. Robert steamed away to lead heat 15 but Simon dived under him into turn 3 (reminicent of Peter Carr). Robert thundered back past Simon at the start of the second lap losing his saddle in the process but still managed to block all Simon's efforts. Dmitri was close behind Ryan but couldn't gain the advantage and the two sides finished level on the night.
One win each for Arthur and Josh, and two for Dmitri and Kyle. Zero from Nathan was nearly as disappointing as Simon's return given the circumstances and some backsides are in dire need of a good kicking.
