The Bears had just gone to the top of the League ahead of the Tigers and had three matches in hand. The Tigers' victory kept them in the hunt, but it all went horribly wrong two weeks later when the Bears gave them a 67-29 drubbing at Cleveland Park.
Ralph Horne won the Junior scratch race from Freddie Woodcock, Alec Edwards and Alvin Higgs, while Frank Hodgson won the Senior final from Bruce Semmens, Jack Bibby and Tommy Bateman.
