Top scorer Jack went high and wide from gate 4 and took the lead down the back straight. Richard Lawson never really challenged and but Kyle was busy staying ahead of Max Fricke. Jason trapped to win heat 2 but Dan lost places with a lock-up on the 3rd bend and never recovered. Josh gated(!) to win heat 3 but once again Kyle had his hands full back in third place until Luke dived past on the last lap. Ryan Douglas became the first Lions winner with a blistering start to heat 4 but Chris and Dan were untroubled by Sam Masters. Kyle trapped to win heat 5 but Max and Richard did a great job preventing Josh from finding a way past. Tigers hold a slender 2 point lead on the night but trail by 14 points on aggregate.

Jack dived past Ryan on the third bend to lead heat 6 and Josh held Antti Vuolas at bay for the Tigers 2nd heat advantage. Chris sped from the tapes to win heat 7 from Luke Becker and Sam. Jack was r/r in heat 8 which he won from Richard but Dan took 3rd place ahead of Sam Hagon. Josh led heat 9 from Ryan but Kyle was chasing hard. Ryan locked up on the 2nd bend lap 2 and hard chasing Kyle had no option but to run into him with both riders avoiding falling. Kyle retired with a badly damaged machine. Jack made a perfect start to heat 10 which Ivan Mauger would have been proud of but which Craig Ackroyd called back. Brother Chris led the restart but the Lions pair baulked Jack on the first turn. A spirited effort off the pits turn saw him draw level with the Lions only for Sam to show him the fence. Two more laps saw Jack getting back on terms and he was about to pass Sam on the 2nd turn off the last lap when Sam got out of shape and Jack had to abandon the maneuver. Tigers are now 6 points up but trailing by 10 on aggregate.

Max speed to his first win of the match in heat 11 but Jason passes Richard for another shared heat. Max is back out in heat 12 as a tactical substitute and takes another win from Kyle who is kept busy ahead of Sam. Max looks like taking a hat-trick in heat 13 but hard chasing Jack dives through on the white line at the start of the last lap to take the win. Josh speeds from gate 4 in heat 14 but Luke and Antti force him very wide and Josh is lucky to stay onboard. He quickly despatches Antti and performs miracles closing in on Luke but despite an heroic last bend fence scraping burst he just failed to get the verdict at the flag. So it's a last heat decider. The Lions already have the aggregate point sewn up but a 5-1 would draw the match and force a super-heat. The Lions take the inside gates and nominate Max and Luke. Simon gives the nod to Jack and, for a reason unknown to EVERY terrace team manager, Josh. The Lions gate and take the outside line and even Jack's heat 13 inside heroics cannot save the day. Super-heat time! Tigers get choice and take the inside gates. Chris joins his brother against the heat 15 winners and it's a different kettle of fish this time with Jack winning from Chris for a 7-2 win. Phew!

Analysis of starting gate positions:
Gate 1 - 36(+1)pts 9 wins. Gate 2 - 23(+3)pts 2 wins. Gate 3 - 13(+1)pts 3 wins. Gate 4 - 18(+4)pts 1 win.
