Top scoring guest ... No Josh Bates (girl friend in labour) or Rob Branford (riding for Rye House at Swindon) so the Tigers were using rider replacement and Edinburgh's Mark Riss at reserve. We lost by 11 points at Foxall to a highly fancied team and were expecting a stern test and a close result.

It didn't auger well when Josh Grajczinek pulled a locker on the first turn of heat 1 and failed to make up lost ground, although guest Mark Riss did well to keep the British champion back in third. He went one better winning heat 2 although Jack seemed to take a while to dial himself into a bike borrowed from Steady. Nico Covatti showed he hasn't forgotten his way around Owlerton winning heat 3, but the visitors lead evaporated with Kyle Howarth winning heat 4 and Jack performing heroics to beat Rory Schlein! Todd powered away to win heat 5 with Danny working hard to contain Lasse and the Tigers lead by four points.

Josh looked much happier winning heat 6 from Rory and Mark. Kyle won heat 7 in style but Cameron Heeps recovered from a big moment on the second turn and blasted bravely around Jack to share the race. Mark and Todd put us 10 points ahead in heat 8 and Rory was given the tactical ride in heat 9. Far from bridging the gap Rory was soundly beaten by Lasse and Todd and Josh left Nico trailing in heat 10 as the Tigers cruise to a fourteen point lead.

Kyle and Mark were leading heat 11 when Danny ran into trouble on the pits turn and took a dive into the air fence. The Tigers repeated the feat in the rerun and Lasse got his revenge on Nico winning heat 12. Josh and Kyle headed Rory in heat 13 with a shaken Danny retiring from the back on the second lap. Cameron took Todd to the fence on the first turn but Mark passed him on the inside at the end of the first lap of heat 14. After a tremendous scrap Mark just got the verdict on the run to the flag. Josh dominated heat 15 winning from Nico and Lasse and the Tigers make light of the fancied visitors to win by 24 points

Newcastle are the next opponents on Sunday and this Sheffield team look like being quite a hand full.
