I had the pleasure of watching the first four heats from the centre green, what a treat! Jason Doyle demonstrated his phenomenal gating
in heat 1 rounding the field to lead by the second turn. Connor dominated heat 2 from gate 4 but guest Lee Complin kept him honest as
did Anders on Justin's heels. Danny King destroyed the tapes in heat 3 and Lewis trapped ahead in the restart with Adam following him home for
the 5-1. Sam Masters, deputizing for Tobiasz, and Connor left Troy Batchelor trailing in heat 4 for another 5-1. Jason stopped the rot winning
heat 5 but Connor and Adam shared the heat ahead of Erik Riss and the Tigers have a 10 point lead.
Jack and Lewis were back on 5-1 form in heat 6 with Lee passing Troy Batchelor for third place. Sam shows Danny and Erik the way home in heat 7.
Connor wins heat 8 with Aaron Summers in his last visit to Owlerton and Anders Rowe holding Lewis back for another shared heat. Jason replaces
Troy and wins heat 9. Lewis leads heat 10 from Danny but Jack swoops around the field to lead by the back straight. Danny passes Lewis but is left
standing by Jack and the 4-2 leaves the Tigers comfortably 16 points ahead.
Sam Masters makes a phenomenal gate to lead from Jason and stymies every one of the world champions moves to win heat 11. Adam leads heat 12 but
Danny leaves it to the last lap to go high and wide around the pits turn and steal the win on the race to the line. Troy is out of his depth in
heat 13 but all eyes are on the other three. Jack and Sam lead the way but Jason battles back into contention with a great scrap with Sam. By
the time Jason pulls clear Jack is a full straight ahead and is the second Tiger to head the world champion home. Adam is rider replacement in heat
14 and takes his first win with Erik resisting intense pressure from Justin. Twenty two points behind you would think the Witches were down
and out, but Danny and Jason gated and Sam couldn't catch them while top scorer Conner was out of his depth.
Sheffield confirm their position at the top of the Premiership league table while the "champions" are destroyed by King's Lynn when they
find themselves without their grand prix stiffener. Early Christmas present from the promotion is that Jack is the first signing for 2023,
(although Adam dropped a big hint when he was interviewed).
