2011 Programme  We were expecting a stern test from the pre-season favourites, and I presume the Tigers had been given a good talking to after last weeks defeat. It must have worked! The Witches pair led heat 1 and while Kevin Doolan took a comfortable win it wasn't so easy for Taylor Poole as first Emiliano Sanchez dived inside him on the second turn, and then Shane Parker blasted around him on the their bend, second lap. Taylor tried to get back on terms but fell on the third lap although he quickly remounted. Ashley Birks and Simon Lambert sped into an early lead in heat 2. Jerran Hart put Simon under pressure for a couple of laps but then took a tumble on the third bend gifting the point to the Witches guest Kyle Howarth. Morten Risager led heat 3 until Hugh Skidmore blasted around him on the pits turn at the end of the second lap. Josh was hot on his tail and he too passed the Dane out of the second turn on lap three. Morten made it a classic first to last as Lasse Bjerre switched under him out of the last bend to steal the point. Ricky Ashworth trapped ahead and won heat 4 by a considerable margin. Kevin and Taylor lead heat 5 but Josh passed Taylor on the outside of the second turn, lap two and was catching Kevin when his engine conked (what a good old word)! Tigers lead by four points.

Shane leads heat 6 and is joined at the front by Emiliano Sanchez who passes Chris out of the second turn. Shane and Emiliano team ride for a couple of laps until Emiliano decides he wants the inside line. Shane responds and moves wide to block Chris's attempts but Emiliano is caught napping and Chris snatches second place with the wide line off the very last turn. Ricky and Morten contested the lead in the opening stages of heat 7 but Ricky soon pulled clear. Taylor Poole fell in heat 8 and failed to clear the track. In the rerun Ashley passes Kyle on the first lap only for Kyle to dive under him at the end of the third lap. Unperturbed Ashley blasted around him out of the second turn and then pipped Emiliano in the dash to the checkered flag. Hugh the early leader of heat 9 but Josh has made a typical start. He picks off Jerran on the inside of the pits turn at the end of the first lap, and wastes no time rounding Chris (wearing black & white) on the second lap. The Witches gate ahead in heat 10 but Shane gives chase and his persistence is rewarded as he dives past Morten into the first bend on the last lap. The Tigers now lead by fourteen points.

Kevin is on a tactical in heat 11 but is beaten from the gate by Ricky and never looks like catching him. Ashley touched the tapes in heat 12 and for some unfathomable reason we send him off 15 metres? Lasse is the early leader but Josh picks him off on the second lap. Ashley is trying too hard to make up lost ground and throws his bike into the fence on the third lap. After an extended interval while the fence was rebuilt the action recommenced. Ricky made a good start from the outside gate in heat 13 and led the field out of the second turn. Shane gave Kevin some serious grief but couldn't find a way past. Simon and Hugh got the drop on Morten in heat 14 and gave him no opportunity to make amends. Ricky trapped in heat 15 but had Kevin in close company. Hugh tried his all to get on terms with Kevin but his only reward was that Lasse switched under him off the last turn and pipped him on the run to the finish line!

The score line did not reflect the racing, but the Witches were well and truly ducked!
