Graham was watering the track as I arrived with light drizzle falling. Kyle trapped from gate 1 and Jack joined him down the back straight for a
comfortable 5-1. Keynan Rew and Jordan Jenkins repaid the complement in heat 2 and the scores remained level after Emil Sayfutdinov won heat 3 ahead of
Chris and Josh. Bomber and Dan led the way in heat 4 but Jordan Jenkins dived under Dan into turn 3 on the second lap. Adam Ellis led heat 5 despite pressure from
Chris but Emil closed down on Chris before passing him high and wide on the third lap. Witches lead by two points.
Jack and Kyle leave Danny King and Keynan in their wake to steal the lead back in heat 6. Emil wins heat 7 from Bomber and Dan Thompson' third place levels the
scores again. Seven races and not a single point scored from starting gate 4! Kyle ends the rot and follows Adam home in heat 8 but the Witches retake the lead.
Danny King makes the start to lead heat 9 and Chris takes an uncharacteristic fall on the outside line into turn 3. Josh makes a better gate in the rerun but Danny
takes his first win. Jack has gate 4 which has only generated 2 points in 9 heats. Emil and Dan Thompson lead the way. Jack passes Dan on the inside of the
pits turn on the second lap, but Emil is flying high and wide as the Witches open a six point lead.
Simon wastes little time putting Jack in as a tactical substitute in heat 11. Rider replacement Keynan leads but is passed by Jack on the back straight. Bomber
settles for third ahead of Adam. Chris traps to lead heat 12 with Emil struggling from gate 4. Adam is rider replacement in heat 13 but Bomber makes a mockery of
gate 4 problems with a blistering outside swoop which leaves him yards ahead by the back straight. Jack follows him home ahead of Adam and the scores are level
again. Dan Thompson comes alive to win heat 14 from hard chasing Josh and Keynan takes the remaining point ahead of Jason to leave the Witches ahead in a last
heat decider. Simon chooses Jack and Bomber while Richie nominates Emil and Adam. Jack takes the lead just ahead of Emil with Bomber third. Emil dives under Jack
at the start of the last lap and takes Jack right out to the fence. Jack switches back and dives under Emil entering turn three. Emil keeps the throttle open
but lifts on the apex and hurtles into the fence, even worse he rebounds straight into the path of hard chasing Bomber and they both take horrific looking falls.
The stadium fell eerily silent as the paramedics and track staff worked through the wreckage. Thankfully Bomber was soon back on his feet and walking back to the
pits with nothing worse than bruises. Emil was stretchered into the ambulance and went to the hospital. Following examinations and scans no broken bones were found
but a deep laceration to his right buttock which would require stitches.
Analysis of starting gate positions:
Gate 1 - 26(+2)pts 6 wins. Gate 2 - 24(+2)pts 3 wins. Gate 3 - 28(+3)pts 5 wins. Gate 4 - 12(+1)pts 1 win.
