My man of the match There had been some rain during the day but the track was still watered before the start. Kyle won the toss but unlike the previous Belle Vue match he selected gates 2&4. Jack made the perfect start from the outside gate and led the field into the first turn. Kyle and Keynan Rew were neck and neck with the Aussie just pulling ahead into turn 3. Jason out paces Jordan Jenkins winning the rerun of heat 2 after Dan Thompson ran out of track and took a heavy fall on the first attempt. Josh led the way in heat 3 but Chris picked up unexpected drive on the second turn and found himself last. Chris quickly passed Tom Brennan on the second lap for a hat-trick of 4-2's, Dan Thompson trapped to lead heat 4 but Jack dived past into turn 3 and Adam Ellis did enough to ward off Dan. Josh rounded the field to lead down the back straight in heat 5 with Jaimon passing Chris for second place on the third turn. Tigers looking good with an 8 point lead.

Jack dominates heat 6 ahead of Adam with Kyle chasing hard after Jordan and passing him on the pits turn at the end of the third lap. Chris is out as r/r in heat 7 and makes the gate ahead of guest Tom with young Jason dicing with Danny King. Jason raises the roof as he gets the verdict after a last bend outside blast. Kyle makes a hash of gate 3 in heat 8 (only Josh has won from gate 3 so far) and Keynan becomes the first visitor to win a race. With Dan second it is also the Witches first heat advantage. Josh traps in heat 9 to lead from Adam but Chris wastes no time and passes Adam on the inside exiting turn 2 on the second lap. The 5-1 immediately nullifies the Witches efforts in heat 8. In heat 10 Jack becomes the second rider to win from gate 3. Tom Brennan takes second place and Danny rounds Kyle into turn 3 on the first lap. Tigers looking good with a 12 point lead.

Josh is r/r in heat 11 and he makes another great start and rides high and wide for his fourth win of the evening. Jason never gives in but it's another shared heat. Chris makes a great start to heat 12 and Jason swoops high and wide to join him at the front. Danny gives chase but cannot find a way past while Dan retires with flames out of his exhaust. Kyle is r/r in heat 13 and he makes a decent start from gate 3 to join Jack at the front, but Jaimon dives through to second exiting turn 2 and then Adam also passes on the second lap. Heat 14 and Josh from the outside gate goes high and wide to take the lead down the back straight. Jason and Jordan are dicing for third place and Jordan passes him wide on the pits turn at the end of the 3rd lap. Ritchie nominates Jaimon and Keynan on the inside gates for heat 15 while Simon, conscious of the aggregate score, nominates his two unbeaten riders, Jack and Josh making it an all Australian final. Jack makes another blinding start and he's joined at the front by Josh on the back straight after another fence scraping first two turns. The Tigers celebrate a 20 point lead to take into the second leg at Foxhall on Thursday.

Analysis of starting gate positions:
Gate 1 - 26pts 4 wins. Gate 2 - 25(+1)pts 5 wins. Gate 3 - 15(+4)pts 2 wins. Gate 4 - 24(+4)pts 4 wins.
