The Tigers went into this match looking for an away win. Ricky started the ball rolling with an emphatic win just half a second off Chris Holder's lap record. The Islanders reserves responded with a maximum in heat 2 to put the home team ahead. Paul Fry took a tumble on the second turn of heat 3 but Glen Phillips took an easy win in the rerun with André looking down on power. Krzysztof Stojanowski won heat 4 with Ben Wilson just holding onto second place ahead of hard pressing James Holder. Ricky took another big win in heat 5 ahead of Glen but all the interest was on the battle for third place with Paul Fry eventually getting the better of Joel Parsons on the last lap. The Islanders lead by six points.

Ben Wilson trapped ahead in heat 6 but Cory Gathercole led before the first lap was completed and Jason Bunyan moved up into second on lap two. Paul Cooper was the early leader of heat 7 but Krzysztof eclipsed him on the second lap. James trapped ahead to win heat 8 and Cory turned it into a maximum passing Joel on the second lap. The Islanders got the drop on Ben to repeat the dose in heat 9. Cory won heat 10 with André just holding onto second despite a last bend lunge by Jason. Tigers now twenty points adrift.

Ricky was wearing black & white in heat 11 and took an untroubled six points ahead of Krzysztof with Joel's third place earning the Tigers their first heat advantage of the evening. Glen and James responded in style by team riding their way to a 5-1 in front of André in heat 12. Ben trapped ahead to lead heat 13 with Ricky riding shotgun. Krzysztof retired on the second lap but Jason gave chase and picked off Ricky on the third lap. Paul Fry reprised his first race by falling in the same spot in heat 14. Lee Smethills trapped ahead in the rerun and Andrew Bargh gamely held onto second place despite all Paul Cooper's efforts. Ricky and Ben were nominated by Eric and made good starts to lead heat 15 but Cory came from nowhere to split the Tigers on the second turn and went on to win.
