The Vikings were waiting for Ivan to arrive back from his overseas commitments and were using their own
assets in his absence. The Tigers welcomed Ales Dryml into their ranks but it might take him a while to get
his equipment in good order. Reg Wilson and Doug Wyer both experienced bike troubles on their way to an
uncharacteristic four points each. Nicky Allott won heat 2 but then failed to add to his score thanks principally to
two tapes offences. Luckily fellow reserve Phil White picked up five points from Nicky's two exclusions and both Henny Kroeze and
Klaus Lohmann joint top scored with a win and three seconds each to inspire the Tigers to their first win of the season.
