Scott Autrey, 12 June 1974
The Vikings started this their sixth match of the season still looking for a win. Reg Wilson took a tumble in the first heat but Craig Pendlebury held off the Viking skipper. The Tigers reserves took maximum points from heat 2 to establish a lead which would never be surrendered.
All the Tigers had at least one race win with the exception of Rod Haynes who was paid for a win in heat 2. Craig Pendlebury must be kicking himself for a poor start in heat 11 after wins in all his first three rides.
The 5-1 from Mitch Graham and tactical substitute Tommy Johansson in heat 11 brought the Vikings to within two points of the Tigers but Doug Wyer won heat 12 to maintain the lead and the Vikings attempt to plunder the points floundered on the first lap of heat 13 when Mitch went overboard while leading on the first lap!
