The story behind this match begins 24 hours earlier when André 'cooked' his engine on the parade lap while guesting for Stoke. Then Sean discovered a problem with his exhaust manifold after this meetings parade lap leaving him very little time to attempt an ad-hoc repair. In the first heat he was passed by both George Stancl and Matthew Wethers so I can leave you to speculate if his repair job was entirely satisfactory. To complete our heat leaders misery Ricky was forced out of heat 3 while lying 2nd when his bike expired.

Thankfully the Tigers did turn things around although by now any prospect of an away win had gone. Ben and Sean pulled back a maximum win in heat 5, Paul and Richard picked up second places as heats 6 and 7 were shared, and Ben scored four on a tactical ride in heat 8. André won heat 9 with Paul passing Birko to pull another two points back, and Richard and Ricky shared heat 10 behind the flying George Stancl.

Shane Parker took the flag in heat 11 but Sean and Ben shared the heat, and Richard was given the black & white helmet in heat 12. He responded by outpacing Birko for a big win and Paul Cooper grabbed third after a spirited battle with Trent Leverington. The home stars dominated heat 13 but Ricky won heat 14 with Kyle third ahead of Paul Bentley. George completed his maximum ahead of wide riding Richard Hall in heat 15 with Shane Parker unable to make up ground on the slick inside line.

An encouraging display by our two inexperienced second-strings. We need them to all click together though if we want to get that elusive away win...
