Programme image The start was delayed by 45 minuted following torrential rain which left the track quite greasy. George Stancl trapped to win heat 1, and the home Tigers took a maximum from heat 2 although Paul Cooper gave Lee Smethills a good run for his money. The home skipper eclipsed his counterpart winning heat 3 but David McAllan was filled in and finished last. Trent Leverington won heat 4 with Joel second and Paul gained his revenge for heat 2 by beating Lee Smethills. Shane Parker held off hard pressing Ricky Ashworth to win heat 5, but the Tigers went 10 points behind when Joel Parsons crashed out of heat 6 as he lifted out of turn 2 and tumbled into the fence.

André was wearing the black & white and took six points for winning heat 7, and Paul Cooper won heat 8 with Birko battling with Robert Kseizak in vain for third place. Shane Parker gated to win heat 9 but as it started to rain again David McAllan fell at the back, remounted, but finished last. George won heat 10 but André and Ben took a share of the points.

Paul came in for Birko in heat 11 and picked up a point for third after Robert Kseizak fell on the third turn, and with Ricky winning the Glasgow lead is reduced to 5. Shane Parker passed André to win heat 12 but Paul beat Lee Smethills for another shared heat. The referee spoke with the two captains about track conditions before heat 13 which was won by Ricky and spoiled George's maximum. Ben and Paul looked set for 5-1 in heat 14 but Ben made a mistake and went very wide allowing both Robert Kseizak and David McAllan through on the inside. Shane and André made light of the conditions to have a four lap scrap in heat 15 with André denying Shane his maximum.

Praise to all 14 riders for making light of the conditions, and completing the match in the pouring rain. Hard to say whether we would have done better in good weather, but I'm sure we missed James Cockle. Well done to André, Ricky, Joel and Paul, and thanks to Cal McDade for standing in at No.6.
