Todd Kurtz was missing having injured his hand at Swindon, and Lasse Bjerre joined him on the injured list after
being taken out by Jacob Thorsell at Leicester on Friday. Add Josh Bates being on international duty and no Georgie Wood
due to domestic reasons and the Tigers
went into this crucial fixture with Lewis Kerr guesting, two National League reserves and rider replacement.
Josh Grajczonek won heat 1 but the home side took three heat advantages before Josh's next heat win in heat 5
leaving the home Tigers 8 points ahead.
Two more heat advantages put the home Tigers 12 ahead and cruising towards preserving their unbeaten home
record. Kyle Howarth was given a tactical ride in heat 9 and grabbed all 6 points with Jan Graversen out pacing Tom Perry for third.
Richie Worrall won heat 10 but Kyle and Lewis Kerr shared
the heat. Home Tigers lead by 7.
Jan trapped to lead heat 11 but was passed by Richard Lawson on the first lap. Josh passed his team mate and
closed Richard down before perfecting a beautiful outside pass on the last turn. Five points down and suddenly we
sniffed the outside chance of a league point. Lewis and Jan trap ahead in heat 12
but Aaron Summers passes Jan for second. Tom falls trying to round Jan and the race is awarded. After Richie is warned for
moving at the start of heat 13 the visiting Tigers race to a maximum heat win and a 1 point match lead. Guest Lewis out paces
Aaron to win heat 14 and Jan takes third ahead of Jack Smith and the visitors extend their lead to 3 points.
The Tigers top riders meet each other to decide the match. Kyle is squeezed out of contention on the first bend but while
Josh speeds clear to decide the match Kyle battles past Richie to secure an unbelievable 13th consecutive win for the Tigers. Wow!
Many thanks to Lewis, Blair and Kevin, and best wishes for speedy recoveries to both Todd and Lasse.
