Both teams were operating rider replacement as Joe Screen was injured and
Josef Franc was serving suspension for missing a meeting without permission.
Travis McGowan sped from the tapes ahead of Hugh Skidmore and Ricky Ashworth with
John Branney chasing hard in heat 1. Simon Lambert was untroubled on his way to victory
in heat 2 ahead of James McBain and Kyle Howarth with Stephen Morris (a late replacement
for Craig Branney) well off the pace. John Branney and Hugh Skidmore are the rider
replacements in heat 3 but John touches the tapes and is handicapped 10 meters. He
makes a huge jump in the rerun and is black flagged as Hugh Skidmore wins from Nick
Morris and Richard Hall. Josh Auty leads the way in heat 4 from Josh Grajczonek and
Kyle Howarth until Scrabble man pulls a 180° on the 3rd bend causing both Kyle and Simon
to bale out to avoid him.
Travis is r/r in heat 5 and leads the way from Ricky as Nick rounds
Hugh out of turn 2 and up to 3rd place. Nick goes wider and wider looking for drive
until he over cooks it into turn 2 on the last lap. Visiting Tigers 4 points ahead.
Travis traps from the inside gate to win heat 6 from Josh A but Steven doesn't even make it
to the end of the second lap. Simon is r/r in heat 7 but Richard exceeds to 2 mins rule and
is excluded. Simon traps from the inside and holds off an early challenge from Josh G for
another shared heat. Simon is out again and wins heat 8 from John while Hugh manages to
barge his under Kyle on the 4th turn on lap 2. Josh G is r/r in heat 9 and takes the lead.
Nick rounds Josh A out of turn 2 but Josh reclaims second place out of turn 4. The race is
stopped with Stephen Morris falling at the back and a rerun is required. Josh G leads the way
with Josh A on his tail but not challenging until Josh G locks up in mid track on the second
turn on the last lap. Josh A lays it down in an instant but his bike still makes contact and
Josh G ends up under a pile of second-hand equipment. Thankfully all walk away uninjured and
the race is awarded. Simon is out again as r/r in heat 10 but misses the gate and looks too
nackered to mount a challenge. Travis wins from Richard with John third and the home team
trim the visitors lead back to three points.
Ricky rounds Josh G out of turn 2 to lead heat 11 and Hugh passes John to take third place.
Ricky then forgets to turn left at the star of lap 2 and by the time he gets his bearings he's
back in third place. Simon replaces Stephen in heat 12 so Richard is r/r and he dives
past Kyle into third place on the third bend. Simon goes high and wide and passes Nick on the
second lap, fourth bend. On the next lap Richard goes high and wide into turn three looking
for second place, but only finding the safety fence! Josh A and Ricky lead heat 13 and their 5-1
ahead of Travis and Josh G put the English Tigers into an unsurmountable lead! Nick is r/r in
heat 14 and Kyle replaces James, but Simon goes 2nd out of turn 2 passing Kyle on the outside.
Richard follows suite out of turn 4 and then Simon uses every inch of the track trying to find a way
past Nick. Great speedway! Although Ricky was left stranded at
the gate in heat 15 Josh rode a glorious line to claim all four league points for
the visiting Tigers.
