2008 ProgrammeRicky and Joel got us off to a good start with a 4-2 in heat 1. Scott Smith tumbled on the second bend of heat 2 as the rain came down quite heavily. When it eased off again 20 minutes later action recommenced with the Scottish Tigers taking the lead with a 5-1. Robert Ksiezak fell at the start of heat 3 but the referee called all four back. André and Paul trapped in the rerun and the lead changes hands again. Josh Grajczonek took heat 4 with Scud and Ben Wilson outpacing Trent Leverington for a shared heat. Robert Ksiezak and Josh clash on the first bend of heat 5 and once again the referee calls all four back. Ricky wins the rerun and Joel's third place stretches Sheffield's lead to four points.

Stoney gates ahead in heat 6 but Lee Dicken passes him down the back straight to set up a 5-1 which levels the scores again. André leads heat 7 but Paul passes both Glasgow riders on the first lap and Sheffield are back in the lead by four points. The referee is called down to the pits to sort out an incident involving Joel and the machine examiner and then heat 8 is stopped after Lee Dicken hit the fence on the second lap injuring a finger. Scud has bike problems in the rerun and baulks his team mate allowing Josh through to win the heat. Ben Wilson traps in heat 9 but makes a mess of the first turn allowing both Glasgow men past and bang goes our lead again. It's close on turn one in heat 10 but André and Paul come up with the goods again and Sheffield's four point lead is restored.

Ricky and Trent Leverington have a big crash on the third turn with Trent demolishing the fence and landing on the dog track. Both are dispatched to hospital with Trent escaping with bad bruising but Ricky suffering a broken wrist. Joel trails home behind the Glasgow reserves in the rerun and parity is restored. André traps ahead to win heat 12 but Kyle is at the back so the points are shared again. Josh takes Trent's place in heat 13 with Scud standing in for Ricky. Josh streaks from the gate to win while Scud and Ben fill the minor positions ahead of Stoney. Josh is out again in heat 14 and he and team mate Anders Anderson are looking good for a 5-1. Paul found his way past the previously unbeaten Josh at the end of lap three and then flew around the outside of Anders on the second bend of the last lap to snatch the win which set up a classic last heat decider. André and Paul are Eric's nominations while Josh Grajczonek is not eligible as he's already taken seven rides leaving Robert and Stoney for Glasgow. André made no mistake from the gate but it looked like finishing as a draw until Paul blasted around Stoney for the vital deciding point.

That's two consecutive matches Paul has missed out on his first ever premier league maximum by dropping a point in heat 15! Great maximum from the skipper, solid return from Joel despite being knocked off and arguments with the over officious machine examiner. Scud also tasted shale but battled for an important second place in heat 13. Kyle's only point came when beating Ben and it looks as if Ricky's season may have come to an early conclusion.
