Drew finished strongly Craig Cook and his team were always going to be a handful, but along with Jim McGregor showing his usual bias we made too many errors. Kyle reared badly at the start of heat four and couldn't find a way to pass his namesake. Drew made poor gates in heat 2 and again in heat 4. He was passed by James Sargeant at the end of the first lap, regained the place on lap 2, but lost it again on lap 3. So much for the coaching from Matej Zagar! Claus Vissing fenced Ty Proctor on the first bend of heat 9 but the Scottish referee excluded Ty. Interestingly when it was Vissing who ended up in the fence in heat 15 it was all four back. Rasmus Jensen waited until the last bend to pass Zaine in heat 10. Zaine returned the favour in heat 12 and in doing so levelled the scores. Danny King led heat 13 until turn 2 lap four when he wandered too wide and Craig Cook stormed through on the inside. Drew swooped from 3rd to lead heat 14 and Zaine's third place gave us a slender lead into the final heat. Craig opened a comfortable lead but Kyle held third place ahead of Rasmus and it looked good for a home win but Kyle strangely elected to ride wide and let his opponent through on the inside on the last lap! Crying shame he hadn't been watching Zaine, Drew and Craig all making inside passes in recent heats. So much for all the silverware we were promised!
