Impressive home debut... Danny makes a good enough start to heat 1 but Sam Masters powers around him out of turn 2 and leaves him trailing. Josh MacDonald is pushed very wide by William Lawson at the start of heat 2 but recovers to pass Connor Coles. Justin traps ahead in heat 3 and is quickly joined by Todd for a maximum heat win. Kyle gets clobbered on the first turn of heat 4 and tumbles into the fence. He makes no mistake in the restart ahead of Ben Barker with JoshM taking his third third place finish. Sam Masters win heat 5 at the canter but James Sargeant is so far behind he doesn't bother finishing. Tigers 6 points ahead.

Sam is out again as a tactical substitute in heat 6. Danny cannot match Sam's pace but shrugs off Ben Barker's challenges. Josh Pickering and Ricky Wells lead the way in heat 7 with Kyle hot on their heels. He tries too hard and end up picking himself from under the fence again! The Monarchs pair make the gate in the restart but Zaine goes around Ricky exiting the second bend. He then sets his sights on the leader and passes JoshP on the inside on the second lap. James Sargeant leads heat 8 with rider replacement Todd hot on his heels. Josh goes wide trying to pass Will but overdoes it and ends up in the fence. Todd flies from gate 4 into an unassailable lead in the rerun. Justin trapped from gate 4 to win heat 9 with Ben Barker working hard to stave off Todd's challenges. Danny led heat 10 from Ricky and Zaine but it becomes our second 5-1 when Ricky's bike expired. Tigers lead by 10 points.

Tigers trap ahead in heat 11 but Kyle gets out of shape on the second bend and baulks Zaine. Kyle gets his head down and gives chase and is rewarded by passing James on the run to the chequered flag. Justin traps and leads heat 12 until JoshP follows Kyle's exploits in the previous heat to snatch the win on the line. The big guns are out in heat 13. Sam traps from the inside but Kyle's outside run is foiled by Ben. Danny cannot catch the leader and Kyle retires from the back as the Monarchs close in with the hope of a match point. Ex Tiger Ricky lets his side down when he is left in the wake as Zaine and Todd record the Tigers third maximum heat win. Danny and debutant Justin are Simon's nominations while John Campbell goes for JoshP to partner Sam. Justin misses the gate and is never in contention while Danny's second place behind maximum man Sam is sufficient to send the Monarchs back over the border without a point.

Rider replacement for Drew generated 6+2 including a win by Todd. Drew's European Championship final got off to a bad start. He made a poor start in heat 1 and got comprehensively filled in on an over watered track, and then fell trying to make a pass in his second outing. He finished well with two wins and a second but the damage had been done.
