The Bees were given a season-long guest dispensation for the absent Garry Middleton but still slumped to their third consecutive home defeat against a confident Tigers septet.

    We always rate the Sheffield scene as among speedway's strongholds because at Owlerton there is patently always a desire to do the right, the sporting thing, and there exists always in matters of administration a general helpfulness that commands respect and return co-operation.
