Facebook picture. I'm above Anders' blue helmet wearing a blue short sleeved shirtCongratulations to Graham Trollope as the racing tonight was top notch. Kyle won the toss and chose gates 1&3. Dubious choice as it means gates 2&4 in heat 13 which has been a crucial heat in home meetings so far this year. Troy gated and led the way from Richie Worrall and Brady Kurtz. Brady finds unexpected drive wide on turn 4 and Kyle wastes no time slipping through into third place. Jye Etheridge destroys the tapes in heat 2 and goes from a 15m handicap. James traps in the restart and does enough to stay ahead of Tom Brennan. Steve Worrall traps to win heat 3 in the fastest time this season and Charles Wright picks up second place when Adam tries too wide too early. Jack traps to win heat 4. Adam was leading heat 5 when Richie tried too hard and fell on the pits turn on lap 2. Race awarded and the Tigers hold a slender 2 point lead.

Troy traps ahead in heat 6 with Dan Bewley keeping him honest. Kyle looked to have done enough to contain Tom Brennan but the rising star doesn't know when he's beaten and after scraping the boards around the last two bends pips Kyle in a photo finish to share the heat. (Dan was subsequently warned for moving at the tapes.) Steve Worrall traps from gate one in heat 7 but Jack goes around him out of turn 2 and never looks like being caught. Richie traps in heat 8 but Kyle passes him on the inside exiting turn 2. Richie simply responds with the same maneuver exiting turn 4. Justin gates and lead heat 9 from Dan and Tom. Adam winds it all on at the start of lap 2 and picks off both visitors down the back straight. Lap three he does the same to team mate Justin who doesn't have as much speed and is passed by Dan on the inside of the last turn. Kyle and Steve trap alongside each other in heat 10 and proceed to give us the race of the night. Kyle edges ahead out of turn 2 but Steve passes him into turn 3 and Chris could have followed through but he picked up extra drive and nearly lost it. Kyle stayed on the inside for lap 2 and was right on Steve's back wheel and went wide into turn 3 and was nearly passed by Chris up the inside. Kyle went for the outside at the start of lap 3 and stayed wide into turn 3 passing Steve out of the pits turn. Steve nearly got alongside out of turn 2 but Chris went high and wide passing Steve into second place on the run to the flag. Where was Troy? Would you believe that was Kyle's first home win of the season and the Tigers now lead by 4 points.

Jack wins heat 11 from the tapes with the field well spaced out. Adam traps from the inside gate to win heat 12 but all attention is on Anders Rowe in third place ahead of the Aces skipper. Steve makes an inside pass on the pits turn at the end of the second lap, but Anders is having none of it and gives Steve a taste of his own medicine on lap 3 and just holds on for a well deserved point, stretching the Tigers lead to 6. The big guns are out for heat 13 but Troy makes a hash of the start from gate 2 and Jack is even worse off gate 4. With the Aces disappearing ahead the Tigers top two them comprehensively trip each other up before Jack retires in frustration. Mark Lemon elects to swap reserves with Tom Brennan taking Jye's ride and Simon follows suit by subbing Anders for James. Chris leads from Justin with Anders in third. Tom is pushing hard and goes around Anders out of the pit bend on lap 3 but Anders appears as if from nowhere on the last bend, sweeps past Tom on the inside and wins the sprint to the flag. The terrace roofing might need checking after the roar that went up! So it's a last heat decider with the Aces requiring a 5-1 to win or a 4-2 to draw. Jack made a dream start from gate 2 and even though Adam could not get into contention the 3 points were sufficient to give the Aces their first defeat of the season.

Many thanks to rising star Anders Rowe who literally does not know when he's beat. The last time these clubs met at Owlerton was 30th May 1996 and the score line finished Sheffield 42-56 Belle Vue.
