Programme cover Following the stock cars at the weekend the track had been re-surfaced and while smooth and un-rutted it was also just a little on the heavy side and the riders had asked for some shale to be moved out wide. The Aces won the toss and Steve elected for gates 2&4. Dan Bewley made a cracking start from the outside and led down the back straight with Jack Holder hard on his exhaust. Jack had to take avoiding action entering turn 3 on the second lap when Dan shed his chain, while Troy held onto second place ahead of Simon. Tom Brennan and Simon are untroubled in heat 2 to level the scores with Nathan Greaves retiring on the second lap. Josh Pickering traps from the inside gate in heat 3 and leads from Steve Worrall and Kyle comfortably out paces his mate Charles Wright. Danyon replaces Nathan who has mechanical issues in heat 4 and makes a superb start to lead from Brady Kurtz! Adam Ellis works hard and eventually passes Simon on the inside of the pits turn at the end of lap 3. Kyle traps in heat 5 but Dan passes him out of turn 2, as Josh passes Tom Brennan at the same spot. Tom chases hard but goes too wide on the last lap and falls, but quickly remounts to finish. Tigers lead by four points.

Brady and Simon lead heat 6 with Jack climbing all over the Belle Vue guest and making an inside pass entering turn 1 on the last lap. Troy can't be arsed and retires. Steve Worrall traps to lead heat 7 but Adam passes him out of turn 2. Charles finished third untroubled by Tigers guest Nathan. Charles is rider replacement and out paces Troy to win heat 8 with Danyon third ahead of Simon. Kyle rounds everyone from gate 4 in heat 9 and leads Tom down the back straight. Josh works hard to stay ahead of Brady for third. Jack repeats Kyle's heroics to win heat 10 from Charles and Steve but Troy just goes through the motions. Tigers hang onto that four point lead.

Adam shines ahead of Dan winning heat 11 but Tom has the legs of Danyon to share the heat. Tom is out again in heat 12 but Kyle is his match and Steve is untroubled by Nathan. The big guns are out in heat 13 and Jack does the business ahead of Dan with Adam third ahead of Brady. That puts the Tigers 6 ahead for the first time in the match. Mark Lemon wastes no time and Dan comes into heat 14 as a tactical substitute but it's Charles who wins from Josh with Dan kept honest by Danyon. Four points up into heat 15 so the Aces need a maximum heat win to steal the draw. Adam and Jack are Simon's choices, Charles and Dan are Mark's making it the top three in the British Final against poor Jack! Charles gets a flyer and Tony Steele pulls all 4 back. Second time is good news for the Tigers as Adam leads the way. Jack drifts Dan wide into turn 1 and then switched back to dive under Charles out of turn 2. Jack passes Adam on the third lap and the pair take a home crowd pleasing 5-1 to send the Aces packing pointless.

Not the best racing of the season but just the result the Tigers needed after the blow of Stefan's injury. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
