Craig Pendlebury deputized for the injured Rick France and the Aces used rider replacement for Chris Pusey. The Tigers needed the home win to assure themselves of finishing second in the league to the all conquering Reading Racers.

The visiting reserves took a 5-1 in heat 2 to take the lead, but Arnie and Doug did the same in heat 3. PC broke the tapes in heat 4 and the Tigers eased ahead with their only defeat coming in heat 7 when Eric Broadbelt outpaced Bengt. Reg and captain Bob finished behind PC in heat 11 to put the win beyond the Aces reach, and Bluey and Doug made it certain with a maximum heat win in the 12th.

Bengt leg trailed to a win on a veteran Douglas machine ahead of Doug on a Rudge before the curtain was brought down on our season with a spectacular fireworks display.
