Ricky trapped to lead heat 1 but Michal Makovsky and Tero Aarnio carved up Hugh Skidmore on the first turn and he never recovered the lost ground. Chris Mills trapped to lead heat 2, but only as far as the second bend where he fell. Greg Blair inherited the lead but Paul Cooper was all over him and moved him out of his way on the first turn on the second lap. Josef Franc led heat 3 from Joel Parsons and Richard Hall who went extremely wide on the third turn letting Paul Clews through into third place. Richard blasted around Paul at the start of lap 2 but couldn't find a way past Joel who was trying his best to get on terms with Pepe. Josh Auty made a brilliant gate (!) to lead heat 4 but Graham Reeve was having none of that and bought them all back to the start. Stanislaw Burza led the restart and try as he might Josh couldn't find his way past. Richard led heat 5 and it looked as if Joel was going to join him until his chain broke on the second turn giving him a nasty whiplash. Five heat gone and every one of them shared 3-3.

Ricky cruised home in heat 6 but Hugh hadn't turned his fuel on. By the end of four laps he had made up lost ground and nearly caught Greg Blair on the line. Pepe won heat 7 without being troubled by Paul Cooper while Paul Clews rounded Josh out of the second turn. Josh dived back under him on the third turn and the race was over. Chris trapped and drifted Tero wide on the first turn allowing Hugh to join him at the front. Tero went around Hugh on the pits turn but Hugh hit back with an inside pass on the second bend to claim the first heat advantage of the evening. Richard trapped to lead heat 9 and Joel picked up second place after Stan went right to the fence on the second turn. Pepe trapped ahead in heat 10 with Ricky all over him like a rash. Paul Clews drew alongside Hugh on the pits turn but Hugh fought back until Paul passed him again at the same place on lap 2. Sheffield now lead by six points.

Michal won the elbow battle on the first turn with Paul Cooper sweeping around into second place. Josh dived past Tero on the third turn and passed Paul on the back straight on lap 3 when Paul pulled a surprise wheelie. Paul Clews took Chris to the fence on the first turn of heat 12 and then rounded Joel out of turn 2. He and Joel then had a spirited battle with the lead changing hands several times while Chris made up ground on Greg back in third. Chris went for a big move around the outside but ran out of track and Graham Reeve immediately stopped the race which was a shame as the battle for first place could have gone either way! Ricky trapped ahead to win heat 13 but Josh passed Stan on the inside of the pits bend and then put Michal under a lot of pressure. Richard took the big swoop around the first and second bends of heat 14, drew alongside Pepe down the back straight and completed the pass on the third turn. Paul challenged briefly but elected to defend third place instead. Richard repeated the same manoeuvre in heat 15 passing both Pepe and Ricky and the Tigers finish with their third 5-1 of the night.
